We heard rumors there were marmots at this hotel (along with the easily found horses, cows and goats). So this afternoon I stalked a marmot and here is the proof! As you can see, a marmot looks to me like a fat squirrel with a platypus tail.....Plus a bonus photo of Stu and some friends.
Rain coming in tonight so we likely will be indoors most of the day tomorrow. Plan to hit the road Monday morning and the forecast looks chilly (44 degrees) when we leave.

Saturday in Midway
This morning was the Breakfast with Stu question and answer event. Lots of questions, comments and jokes!
Thank you gift and certificate from the event organizer.

Friday in Midway
80 degrees and sunny! Rode the bike zero miles today. We went to the opening of the GWRRA event then had lunch at the hotel. It is wonderful to see hundreds of motorcycles and motorcyclists here at the hotel. This afternoon, we had the good fortune of going with Gail (in her car!) for a tour of Midway and the general area.

Thursday evening closing photo
Since I am not a blogger wizard, I am unable to edit the prior post and add this photo. ;). Rather than be thwarted...here it is!
Dessert tonight and in the background you can see the writing in Stu’s shirt.

May 22, getting ready for Utah mountains
Tuesday afternoon here and we are almost done with trip prep. We are taking the 2015 Triumph Tiger 800 on this trip, our modern bike :). Lucy, the best dog in the world, is at the spa, the bike has new tires, and we have test fitted our packed luggage and we can close the lids!
Weather reports have been checked and it appears that while weather gods might poop on us towards the end of the trip, the first part looks excellent....We leave tomorrow morning. Plan is to get to Kanab, Utah tomorrow, then end up in Midway Utah (5,500 feet in the mountains outside SLC) the next day. Tomorrow’s plan: we will likely stop in Flagstaff for gas and a break...then stop for lunch in Cameron (home of a great Navaho taco place as well as a great Indian jewelry store) and get into Kanab for dinner and the night. Will valiantly attempt to take photos, get a wireless connection at the hotel in Kanab and post the blog update tomorrow night.
